About Heap
Heap's distinguishing idea is autocapture: instead of deciding in advance which events to track, a single snippet records clicks, page views, form submissions and other interactions, and you define events retroactively in the interface. That makes it popular with teams that lack engineering time for detailed tracking plans, or that keep discovering questions they did not instrument for. On top of that data it offers funnels, journeys, retention, segments and session replay. Heap is now part of Contentsquare, and its analytics are being folded into Contentsquare's wider experience analytics platform while the Heap product and plans remain available. There is a free plan for small products, capped by monthly sessions, and paid Growth, Pro and Premier tiers priced on sessions. Autocapture can produce noisy data and it captures mainly web interactions out of the box, so mobile or backend events still need deliberate tracking. It runs in the browser.
Best for: Teams that want answers without a detailed tracking plan or much engineering help.
