About Unleash

Unleash is one of the most widely used open-source feature flag projects, developed by a Norwegian company. Teams use it to separate deploys from releases: wrap code in flags, then enable features for specific users, run gradual rollouts, test in production and switch off problems quickly. It has more than 25 SDKs and an edge proxy for low-latency evaluation, and its enterprise features add change requests, audit logs, role-based access, SSO and release templates aimed at regulated industries such as banking. Unleash Open Source is free, self-hosted and has no seat limit, though it is restricted to a single project and a couple of environments. Unleash Enterprise is available as a hosted pay-as-you-go plan priced per seat, or self-hosted and hybrid under annual contracts, with a 14-day trial. It suits engineering teams who want to own their flag infrastructure; product managers may find its interface plainer than commercial rivals.

Best for: Engineering teams that want open-source flags they host themselves.
