About Sendy

Sendy is a PHP application you install on your own web hosting to send newsletters through Amazon SES or other SMTP providers. Instead of a monthly subscription, you buy a one-time licence and then pay only the sending provider's fees, which for Amazon SES are a small fraction of what SaaS tools charge for large lists. It covers lists and segments, campaign scheduling, autoresponders, templates, subscribe forms, bounce and complaint handling, reports with opens and clicks, and multi-brand support so agencies can resell it to clients. Recent versions add an AI assistant for writing templates. Because it is self-hosted, setup requires a server with PHP and MySQL, configuring Amazon SES and cron jobs, and you are responsible for updates and deliverability. The interface is plain, automation is basic compared with hosted platforms, and it is not open source. For people sending large newsletters on a budget, it can save a lot of money.

Best for: People sending large newsletters who want to pay once and use cheap Amazon SES sending.
