About Smartlook
Smartlook is a behaviour analytics tool from Czech company Smartlook, now owned by Cisco. It records sessions on websites and native mobile apps, builds heatmaps, and lets you define events, funnels, retention tables and behaviour flows on top of the recorded data. Strong mobile SDK support is a key difference from many website-only replay tools, with SDKs for native iOS and Android plus React Native, Flutter, Ionic, Xamarin and even Unity games, so it is a common choice for app developers who want replay without enterprise pricing. It can be installed through Google Tag Manager and has a REST API. Smartlook offers a free plan with a limited monthly session allowance and paid plans that raise limits and retention. The analytics side covers the basics well but is not as deep as dedicated event platforms, and much of its documentation has not been updated in over a year, which suggests slower development since the acquisition. It runs in the browser.
