About Estuary

Estuary is a managed data integration service focused on moving changes as they happen. It reads database logs (change data capture) from Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Oracle and others, and also pulls from SaaS apps and files on a schedule, then delivers to warehouses, lakehouses, Kafka-compatible consumers and vector stores. Captured data is kept in your own cloud storage bucket, so adding a second destination doesn't mean re-reading the source. Transformations can run in flight in SQL or TypeScript, schema changes are handled automatically, and delivery is exactly-once. Pipelines can be built in a web app or managed as code with the flowctl CLI. Pricing is simple compared with row-based tools: a free tier covers 10 GB a month and two connectors, after which you pay per GB moved plus a monthly fee per connector, with a 30-day trial. Enterprise contracts add private and bring-your-own-cloud deployments. It suits teams that need fresh data in a warehouse at predictable cost.

Best for: Data teams needing low-latency database replication into a warehouse at a predictable per-GB price.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Log-based CDC with streaming or scheduled delivery per destination
  • Free tier with no credit card
  • Pricing per GB and per connector is easy to estimate
  • Stores captured data in your own bucket for replays

Why people leave

  • Connector fees add up quickly when you run many sources
  • SSO and HIPAA BAA are Enterprise-only
  • Fewer SaaS connectors than the largest ELT vendors
